Div 01 · General Requirements

Post-construction cleaning

A build-out is finished when it is clean, not when the trades leave. The gap between substantial completion and a tenant walking in is usually a cleaning problem, and it is usually on the critical path.

We handle rough, final and detail cleaning on commercial build-outs, tenant improvements and renovations — construction dust out of the systems, adhesive and labels off the glass, fixtures and hardware detailed, floors brought to a finished state.

Construction dust is not ordinary dust. It settles into diffusers, returns and light fixtures and it comes back down for weeks if the final clean only wiped the horizontal surfaces.

What is in scope

  • Rough clean during construction
  • Final and detail clean before turnover
  • Adhesive, label and mineral removal from glass
  • Diffuser, return and light fixture cleaning
  • Hard surface and carpet initial finish
  • Fixture, hardware and millwork detailing
  • Punch-list touch-up cleaning after walk-through

When people call us

  • Turnover is scheduled and the trades just left
  • A walk-through generated a cleaning punch list
  • Dust keeps reappearing a week after the space was cleaned
  • New glass still has adhesive and manufacturer labels

Questions we actually get asked

When should post-construction cleaning be scheduled?

Book the final clean against the walk-through date, not the trades' finish date. The reliable sequence is rough clean during construction, final clean after the last trade leaves, then a touch-up after punch-list work.

Is this different from regular janitorial?

Yes. Post-construction is a one-time detail scope dealing with dust in mechanical systems, adhesives, mineral deposits and protective films. Recurring janitorial does not include any of it.

That was the best line on the old website and it sat halfway down the homepage under a generic button. Tell us what building you are running and what is not getting done.
